ARF Animals

ADOPTING

Rescue AnimalsThank you for your interest in an ARF animal! ARF feels strongly about matching the right pet to the right home, and asks that you please fill out this application completely and honestly. Incomplete applications will be returned, so please take the time to answer each question. You are welcome to add any additional information to the application you feel would be important for us to know.

ARF would also like to ask that when making the choice to add a pet to your life, you take a moment to consider your future plans and make sure a pet fits into these plans. If you plan to move, start a family, travel, or make other major life changes, please make sure these changes include your pet.

Finally, please be aware that with all ARF adoptions, you are required to sign an adoption contract before taking the pet home that requires that at any point in the future if you are not able to care for or keep an ARF animal, the pet must be returned to ARF and may not be sold, given away, or surrendered to any other shelter or rescue.

ARF ANIMALS FOR ADOPTION

To adopt a pet, please fill out an application.  It generally takes 3 business days for us to process the application.  Please allow at least 3 business days before we contact you.  Thank you!

Big news!  Effective immediately, ARF cannot take in any more animals until further notice due to construction upgrades. We are running a cat adoption special, $20 for adult cats and $40 for kittens under 6 months of age through August 4, 2017. The dog adoption center is CLOSED for visiting hours. Dog meet & greets and adoptions are by appointment only. All adopters must complete adoption applications either via our website, or in person Monday-Friday, 10am-noon or 1pm-5pm, or Saturday noon-3pm. Please keep in mind that adoption applications take up to 3 business days to process. We do not do same-day adoptions because we check vet and personal references to make sure our babies are going to capable, loving homes.  Thank you!

We introduced you to our vet Dr. Veneskey on Sunday; we would like to introduce our other veterinarian, Dr. Pritchard! We are incredibly lucky to have found two veterianrians dedicated to the homeless animals of our community as well as pets of low/lower income families!

Dr. Lindsey Pritchard joined the ARF team this year. Dr. Pritchard previously worked at VCA Northwood Animal Hospital; she loved working with all of her patients and is looking forward to making a new positive impact on her local community of Muncie. Dr. Pritchard was born and raised here in Delaware County and is so very happy to be back where she has always felt a need for low-cost affordable pet care, that doesn’t skimp on quality. She is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Bioscience with a minor in Biology from Purdue University. Dr. Pritchard’s interests include internal medicine, behavior, nutrition, education, and community outreach. Dr. Pritchard enjoys all of complexities of general practice and loves being a part of your pet’s entire life, from puppies & kittens to geriatrics. She will work as a team member to develop your human-animal bond and be part of each life stage with advice and information. In her free time Dr. Pritchard enjoys spending time with her rescued lab mix Oliver and schnauzer mix Ralphie, as well as camping, hiking in local parks/natural forests, reading, and spending time with family. Call to schedule your appointment with Dr. Pritchard at the arf PAW clinic!

Little Diego, one of our sanctuary babies, thanks you for your continued support of ARF!!! Diego suffers from siezures, and is selective with new people. Diego LOVES everyone once he knows them, but tends to be very fearful of new people. Diego will call ARF his forever home, because in the past each time he was adopted out (which was twice) he wouldn't eat. When he was returned to ARF, he happily ate, so we think he decided ARF would be his forever home! Diego and his friends in our sanctuary program are a huge reason why ARF exists. Not only do we have an adoption program for placeable animals, we have a sanctuary program for animals who need hospice or long term care but may be selective when meeting new people (but LOVE people they know!) and would be harder to adopt out into homes. Without your continued support, ARF would not be here to help little guys like Diego and all his friends in our sanctuary program! ... See MoreSee Less
